Hilton Head Island 2009

Larry, the girls, and I give Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 2 thumbs up! It was our sweet Hailey's 1st trip to the beach, and Cady's 3rd time. We got a great deal because we booked our place 12 hours before we got on the road. :)

We decided to take our time getting down there so the girls could get out and stretch. The first stop was for some lunch at San Diego Mexican Restaurant. Then shopping at the Locust Grove Tanger Outlet.

We arrived in Hilton Head with just enough time to unpack at the Villa and head out in search of some good seafood. We ate at the Crazy Crab which was delicious and very family friendly! There was a giant 25ft long aqaurium with tons of salt water fish and an eel. They sat us right in front of the aqaurium so Cady would have a good view. We will definitely go back!

Finally, we walk to the beach and just let Cady loose. She had such a great time digging in the sand, playing in the waves, and searching for shells. We dug a little seat in the sand for Hailey which she seemed to like. She stayed up for the first hour looking around, and then the warm weather put her into a deep sleep the rest of time there. Larry and I took turns carrying Cadence out to "her big waves", and she would giggle everytime we got splashed.

We took the night off and ordered in from the Hilton Head Brewing Company which was delicious, but we were also starving. We could not get cell phone service or internet while we were there. That was the first time in a long while that we have been without!!!

We enjoyed our stay but not the bed. It was as hard as a rock! We decided to leave the night before so the girls would sleep on the way home. We made good time and got to sleep in our own beds...well except for Hailey. She decided that she wanted to sleep with mama  dada. My sweet little angel. I can't believe she is 3 months old already!! We spent a day in Atl recovering and then were off on our next trip.

Zoo Atlanta

Cady and Hailey's first trip to the zoo was so much fun. It was Larry, me, the girls, and Nana & Pop pops (Larry's parents). Hailey pretty much slept through the whole trip, but Cady couldn't get enough. Her favorite things to see were the elephants. They were one of the 1st few animals to see when you get there, so Cady had to go back just before we left to see them again. She also loved the panda bears, zebras, and monkeys.

We set Cady free in the gift shop to pick out one stuffy/toy, and of course she ended up with an arm full of animals. She did eventually decide on a cute panda bear. We didn't get a chance to see everything since we got a late start, so I guess we will just have to go back.

My Sweet Girls
Hailey Isabelle Burge was born 3 weeks early on June 6th, 2009. She weighed 7lbs and was too small for all the clothes we had . We were expecting a 9-10 lb baby :) I can't believe how small she is. Hailey is 1 month old now and is still wearing newborn clothes! Larry and I had a few days alone with her after leaving the hospital since Cadence was at the beach with her Nana, Pop pops, aunts, & uncles.

Cadence has been a good big sister. She loves to help with just about everything and gives her "sissy" hugs and kisses before bed. It hasn't been perfect, but Cady is adjusting well to sharing the spotlight now. She also loves to sing all day long. Her favorite ones are ABC's, Row Row Row your boat, Wheel on the bike, Elmo world, & Bushel peck.
My girls have been lots of fun so far. I feel very lucky!

Bye Bye Pink Birdie

Yeah, I sold another painting! I am actually sad to see this one go. I have been thinking about painting it again, but changing the colors or size... something different.

I dropped off my crazy little Cady in Alabama with her Nana & Pop pops for the week. I miss her so much already, but I have been getting a lot done. The new nursery, plant shelf, and Cady's toybox are painted, and I'm almost done with Cady's bathroom. I've got a few more days to get things done and a very long list. I also found some pictures I thought I would share.

Pug with No Name
I finally finished my pug picture that has been sitting around my desk for weeks. I haven't come up with a good name for him though. It looks like a boy pug to me for some reason, maybe because of the blue background. This one is acrylic paint on a 12"x12"x1.5" stretched canvas. The dog pics have been fun for me to paint. I am thinking about doing a Yorkie next.
Cady likes to call this one, Mimi, after her Nana and G's pug. She says, "Mimi cute. I like it." :) I guess this one could look like a Mimi the Pug. I still have until tomorrow when I list it to decide.

Cady's 1st Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday was a lot of fun with lots of chocolate! This was Cady's 3rd Easter, but the first one she woke up asking about the Easter bunny. She loved opening the plastic eggs and eating the chocolate bunny for breakfast. :) Larry & I had an easter egg hunt in the backyard for Cady and her friend, Jade (also 2 yrs old). It was very cute watching them find and break open all the eggs. I did manage to get a few pictures. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Cady is always so focused with everything she does.

Cady opened each egg and dumped the treat in her bucket before looking for more eggs.

My sweet Cady bugs.

Cadence was running around in her 1" heels all day :)

Jade playing with the neighbors' dogs, Pancakes & Sasha.

Resting after the long hunt.

Finished the Castle

I just got done with the first half of my current project. There are 2 paintings, and each one is on a 16x20 stretched canvas. Painting #2 is a couple of fairies and a frog - should be fun. :)
